Today is a Good Day! Yes – It’s Really That Simple!

Maybe you’ve been under a lot of stress lately, and life doesn’t seem worth a darn – this isn’t true. Have you ever thought about the fact that you’re luckier than you realize and maybe there are other people out there who would not complain if they were in your shoes? Today is a good day – because even if it’s bad, you’re still capable and have the power of making it the best.

Today is a Good Day!

Today is a good day, because you can make new friends, learn new things and make a difference in someone’s life. If you’ll allow yourself to stop the negative self-talk for a second, you’ll realize you’re free to embrace the good things in your life and kick the bad things to the curb!

If today is going to be a good day, you need to stop focusing on the negatives. Think back to a time in your life that you felt awesome, had a fantastic experience or did something that made your heart sing. It feels good to remember doesn’t it? Now, picture these good feelings from your past happening right now, in the present. You have the ability to change your entire outlook, if you only try.

Only you have total control over your thoughts, actions, deeds and words. Never let someone come along and pollute you or spread their toxicity into your life. You don’t need those kinds of people because they are only happy when making someone else as miserable as they are.

You know the type too, the “friend” or family member who comes around and wants to do nothing but complain, whine, grumble and criticize. You’ll never hear a positive word out of this person’s mouth, and you know why – because they are chronically down and devoid of joy and if they can steal bliss from others they surely will.

Give of Yourself

Nothing makes a person feel fulfilled faster than when they can do something nice for someone else. If you’re the type of person who finds happiness and contentment in doing for others, then get out there right now and do something. Call up a friend and offer to treat him or her to a movie or lunch. The benefit is you get to spend time with someone you care about, you can have fun and you can do something nice to brighten their day.

Another way of making yourself feel better and making today good is to go out there and volunteer for an organization that’s near and dear to your heart. Go to your local animal shelter and walk the dogs, play with the cats and donate a bag of food or some toys. These organizations appreciate any and all help they’re given and in turn you are helping to make the lives of shelter animals better.

The bottom line is to do something, anything that makes you happy!

So, there you have it. Today is just one small chunk in the bigger scheme of your life and what you do with it can determine if it’s good or bad. You can do anything you’d like, so long as you do it one step at a time and with gladness in your heart.
